In the past few weeks, we’ve had a steady stream of folks at Corhaven coming for retreats, or more specifically, coming to meet with God.  And God met them!   The tag-line describing Corhaven has been from the very beginning “A place to meet God–A place to be met by God”.   It’s so encouraging, beyond words, to see that continue to be a reality in ways that we can’t manufacture.

Here’s the simple math:

Create the space

+ a person desiring to encounter God

+ the God who delights in that desire and shows up

= Wow.

There’s not a lot of complexity here.   We create the space, God fills it, a person enters it.    Thanks be to God, and to those who keep on coming to Corhaven to meet him.

I just want to take a moment to thank you and Tara again for your wonderful hospitality during my recent stay at Corhaven.  My moments of discussions with you and especially my time with our Father was,to say the least, refreshing and most needed. The retreat just added to the revelation of discovering who I am and how God has truly made me.  I read a quote the other day and I couldn’t help but laugh out loud because of the applicability:  “God has been patient with me all my life, and I still suck!”  The wonderful thing is, He loves me and wants me to walk this road of discovery to who I am and His purpose (great or small) for me in His kingdom.

Thanks for pointing out the start of that discovery down the trails of Corhaven.

Thank you for hosting our women’s small group last week.  We were blessed and loved by your care.  And the women are already talking about a return trip!

Without exception, each of us experienced ‘the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living’, in our drive through the rain, our walks in the woods, the thoughts Bill shared, and comfort food.  Thank you for providing a sacred space for all of this.

It has been two weeks since I had the chance to be with you at Corhaven.

I have shared with many friends and family about how God met me in a different and more powerful way than ever before!  I am humbled and amazed at the way you all have arranged your place to make a profound impact in my heart and life!

These few days have been perfect as the Lord continues to affirm thoughts and desires that I keep ignoring…because of fear.  Through scripture reading, prayer, and a few timely books I picked up – I received clarity and answers to questions I’ve had.  The key phrase I leave with – “God will make a way.”
