An Invitation to Journey Together in Baltimore – Fellows 2024

The Coracle Fellowship in Baltimore starts its third cohort in person on Saturday, September 14th and we hope you can join us!  This time, instead of taking 20 months for this powerful journey of spiritual formation and transformation, we’re doing it in 10 months.

We continue to be in awe of how lavishly and intimately God cares for His beloved children whenever they set aside dedicated space to turn their attention to Him.  One of the beautiful ways we have experienced this intimate transforming communion with Christ in Baltimore has been through the Coracle Fellowship.

Erich Becker, one of our recent alumni, suggests that if you want to find out about any course or class, do not read the description or the syllabus. The best way to find out what it’s like is to interview someone who attended, who went through it.  But, even more revealing than a summary of their experience or their 2-3 take-aways from the course is a narrative, a testimony of the life-changing impact the experience had on them.

With that in mind, we asked three people who completed the second Baltimore Fellows Program (2022-2024) to write the story of their experience.  Below are some excerpts from what they wrote –

“My experience in the Coracle Fellows Program in Baltimore is best described as an adventure and a journey … it’s hard to think of a more eclectic group of people coming together around a common purpose … I learned that taking dedicated and designated time away to focus on the Lord, especially with others who are like-minded yet with diverse backgrounds and perspectives, is breathtakingly good for the soul!”  -Angelo DeMarz

“As I attended each Coracle session my spiritual eyes were opened to new ways of seeing and experiencing Jesus, not only from the content of the retreats and the lives of the presenters but also through the lives of the participants as we spent these 2 years together.  Although the Scriptures were foundational [and rightly so], I was challenged in my faith by new paradigms of thinking and being that I hadn’t considered before.  And for that I am very grateful.” –Jon Cage

“When I arrived for the first retreat, I was filled with nervous excitement.  However, that feeling changed as I entered the room and looked around.  I became very uncomfortable, guarded because there weren’t many people who looked like me, but by the end of that first retreat, I was determined to complete the program … I grew up in very traditional Apostolic/Pentecostal churches.  My view of God and His love for me had a lot to do with performance: if I messed up, God was mad, and I had to ‘get it together’.  Coracle revealed to me another side of God’s character … God loves me in spite of me and despite me … I have begun to give myself grace as I learned what God’s grace truly means.  Knowing that God loves me just because allows me to trust Him more and fall in love with Him.  I’m so happy I completed the program.  It was life-changing!” – Kalyn Mwangangi

In closing, here’s another thought from Angelo: “if you desire to go deeper and get closer to God, to hear Him better, to seek Him, to become intimately connected with Him, and to remain hungry for even more … this [Coracle Fellows Program] may be just what you’re looking for.”
