Contemplative Life

RECORDING: “Invitations to Abundance” with Alicia Akins

What do the feasts of the Bible reveal about our place in today’s tired world?  In short, everything.

From Genesis through Revelation, redemptive history is captured through feasts. Through them, God calls his people to commemorate mercy, delight in grace, and commune with him and with each other. In the process, he proves he doesn’t ration his rich, soul-satisfying love toward us but instead lets it overflow.

We are thrilled to share this conversation with Alicia Akins, recovering expat based in DC and author of the book, Invitations to Abundance: How the Feasts of the Bible Nourish Us Today.  After living and working in Asia for five years, she considers it a second home. She is a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies student at RTS, Washington and serves as a deaconness in her church, Grace DC Downtown.  You can find more of her writing at FeetCryMercy.com and follow her on Twitter @feetcrymercy.

This was recorded as part of our Second Wednesday series of gatherings in Northern Virginia.
