“Asking for Our Desires: Blind Bartimaeus”

In this “Space for God: BIBLE,” Rev. Chris Lugo (Coracle Community Minister) guides us through the story of Blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10.  He focuses on Jesus’ question to Bartimaeus—”What do you want me to do for you?“—drawn together with keen observations from Augustine of Hippo and other Christian thinkers who point out the central role of desire in our humanity.  Too often, churches have framed desire as inherently sinful, but God made us desiring creatures.  He invites us to order our desires around him and his kingdom and experience the peace and rest of a well-ordered heart.
