In early August, I accepted a full time position as Pastor of Youth and Young Families at Montezuma Church of the Brethren in Dayton, VA. Beginning on September 15 I will be working full time at the church, and will be part time at school finishing my MDiV. This is an exciting time for my wife and I, however it is hard for me to step down from working as the Program Manager for Coracle.
I have been working with Coracle for three years, and have a large collection of emails in my inbox to prove it! I feel deeply connected to Coracle, and support its mission and its future direction. The reality is, now I am answering a calling that will nurture my leadership skills, and will utilize my gifts in ministry while supporting my education in seminary and giving me a little more income.
There are quite a few ways that Coracle has impacted me on my journey in spiritual deepening. Here’s a couple…
Working with Bill was my first real exposure to the Anglican church, and Bill told stories that helped me walk through some personal struggles in my pilgrimage. Coracle has opened my eyes to a functional organization that focuses on hope for bringing the Kingdom of God to earth, and provides formation for those who are ready for that journey. The hope is where we are going, and the formation is the tool to get us there. Bill has taught me a lot about my own interests in true Shalom. Coracle has also been helpful in my new love of Spiritual Direction (something I am taking courses on in Seminary now). Overall, Coracle has opened my eyes to more people who care about Kingdom Action.
The hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye! I plan on being involved with Coracle in some way including keeping you all in my prayers. Please continue to pray for Pam and I on this next stage of our Journey together. If you need to contact me, my email address is dodd.gabriel@gmail.com, and the address to my church is 4937 Ottobine Rd, Dayton, VA 22821.
Peace & Grace,
-Gabe
