It is obviously a heartbreaking time in the Middle East, and tensions in the Holy Land are as high as they’ve been in some years.  Coracle has partnered with The Telos Group to offer a strange and powerful trip there February 3-13 along with 12 others, Bill and Todd Deatherage will lead a very unique pilgrimage.  It’s common for folks to go to Israel/Palestine for spiritual purposes, and common for folks to go for humanitarian purposes, much less common for folks to go for those two reasons at the same time.  That’s what this particular trip does as we will engage God and the spiritual history of the Holy Land and at the same time dive deeply into God and the contemporary realities of both Israelis and Palestinians.  You can read more from Todd about the deep longings for ways forward in the Holy Land that are pro-Israeli, pro-Palestinian, and pro-peace.  Bill will offer a written reflection at the end of the trip and we’ll send that out, and the last time we did this trip he wrote a reflection called “Nothing Is Not Complex” (click on the PDF below which gives a real account of what this head-spinning, heart-enlargening trip is like.  Please pray for the pilgrims, Bill and Todd as they lead, safety for all of us, and “the peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122).
