Fellowship Program

Coracle Fellowship: Northern Virginia + Washington DC

The Coracle Fellowship leads you through a year-long process of discovery and formation in community with others seeking More in their relationship with God and in their redemptive engagement with the brokenness that surrounds us all.  It is a program of “Spiritual Formation For Kingdom Action.”  The world needs more people who are alive and strong in God for the sake of the world.  That is why we offer this program, so that you might become God’s joyful and redemptive presence wherever he leads you.

By the end of your Fellowship experience, here are our hopes for you:

that you would know God’s love more truly – understand Jesus more clearly – connect with God more easily – embrace your uniqueness more deeply – understand your vocations more confidently – live more hopefully – hear God’s voice more readily – participate in God’s redemptive work more eagerly – trust God more radically – live more fully with great joy.

The Coracle Fellowship is woven around a framework of twelve group retreats, traditionally at Corhaven, Coracle’s retreat center in the Shenandoah Valley.  While we’ll still have a few retreats at Corhaven, most of our retreats will take place at our new Coracle-Arlington ministry space (Greenbrier Baptist Church).  Learn more about our corresponding online fellowship here. The program will also include other key elements experienced individually and in group settings in your locale.  These elements include:

recommended readings – exposure to a variety of spiritual disciplines – written reflections – several local Coracle Fellowship dinners – a personal retreat – the opportunity to participate in other Coracle offerings over the course of the year – and the opportunity to synthesize what you have learned in a final reflection project.

All the while, we encourage you to continue to participate regularly in your home church.

On top of individualized attention to your spiritual journey and growth, we will provide a Fellowship reading list, a robust notebook of retreat resources, a specialized prayer book, and a journal for your use throughout the program.

Please reach out to us at info@inthecoracle.org with any questions you might have!

The Coracle Fellowship faculty is made up primarily of our staff including Rev. Bill Haley, Rev. Chris Lugo, Wade Ballou, Carla Meuller, our spiritual directors, and others.

Cost:  The cost for the full year, including retreats, materials, and a personal retreat, is $1,995 or $167 per month.  The cost of books is not included in this amount, nor are additional donations for sessions with a spiritual director, which would be offered separately and directly to your spiritual director.

Fully-Online:  In addition to the in-person Fellowship, we will also be offering a fully-online form of the program.  All of the in-person retreats will be live-streamed over Zoom to any participants who are unable to attend the retreats or who live out of the area.  This version of the Fellowship program costs $1,350 or $113 per month.  You may indicate in your application the version of the Coracle Fellowship upon which you hope to embark!

Scholarships:  We are glad and able to offer some scholarship help for the Coracle Fellowship experience.  Particularly, Coracle is excited about and committed to the leadership and contribution of people of color in spiritual formation.  Therefore we have scholarships available if that will enable participation. For any African American brothers or sisters who would like to participate, we are excited to offer full scholarships as part of our Howard Thurman Scholarship program.

If you are interested in a scholarship, please indicate this in your application. We want whoever God is drawing to this to be able to participate in it!
