Help us keep building the fire!

Towards the end of 2025, we shared our vision for 2026: Building the Fire.  We want to bring more of the warmth and light of God’s love to more people.

And, friends, we have so much to be grateful for!  From the ways God has met us to the ways you’ve supported us with your prayers, participation, and generosity.  This fire is indeed burning, we’ve made real progress on all our initiatives laid out in our vision doc… and we are still building.

This June we have the goal of raising $100,000 to forward our mission and enable our ministry.  Generous donors have pledged $50,000 in matching funds towards our efforts!  If you’ve benefited from or want to make our ministry available to others, please consider making a gift and helping us meet our goal!

Double your support for our ministry today

We are laser focused on four keys ways that we’re building the fire:

  1. At the Coracle Center of Formation for Action, where we offer regular opportunities for encounters with God and provide ministries of formation, healing, and action.
  2. In our Coracle Community, an ecumenical group of people committed to contemplation, transformation, and Kingdom action and meeting each week to pursue union with God and the deeper life in Jesus together for Love’s sake in the world.  Gosh I love writing that, and sitting with each word and phrase.  Some of us in our community are now practicing A Common Way together, Coracle’s version of a way of life.
  3. We launched our first official Coracle Chapter, with our dear community that has formed in Baltimore.  Coracle Baltimore will forward the mission, vision, and values of Coracle distinctly in that city for the sake of many more people.
  4. Leaning into the next season at Corhaven, our spiritual retreat center in the Shenandoah Valley.  In addition to continuing our ministry of welcoming individual and group retreatants, we are re-launching our summer internship program after a 4-year hiatus and we are convening a Benedictine-informed residential community.

All of these are spaces we offer with the fervent prayer that those who come to Coracle will encounter God in a deep and meaningful, even transformative, way.  And, it’s happening.

“I feel like I’m coming alive,” a community member recently shared with me. Amen, and praise God!  Another person shared with me two weeks ago, “I’ve been looking for something like this for a very long time. I’m hungry for more of God and want to go deeper. God is making something beautiful.”  Amen, and praise God!

Do you have a testimony to God’s work in your life through the ministry of Coracle?  We’d love to hear!   Seeing how God is using our efforts to deeply touch you is incredibly encouraging and fortifying to us.  It’s why we do what we do and we celebrate when it happens.

None of this is possible without generous Coracle partners.  Your support helps us live out our mission to inspire and enable people to be the presence of God in the brokenness of the world through spiritual formation for Kingdom action.

Will you partner with us today in our vision to see people come fully alive through Christ for the sake of the world?  Will you partner with us by joining in one of our many offerings?

Thank you in advance for your support!

We’re so grateful to be…

On the journey,

P.S. Questions about any of our 4 initiatives, or the bigger picture of what we’re about?  I’ll be hosting an online conversation on Tuesday, June 16 at 7 p.m. EST.  RSVP here.  And, of course, please email me at any time.

P.P.S. Recently I recorded an episode for our podcast with a friend about Celtic Christian spirituality, releasing soon.  On it he shared this old prayer that would be offered at the lighting of the morning fire.  It’s apt for how we are seeing things, what we’re trying to do, and what we’re praying for.  I invite you to download this, share it, or even go old school and print it off and tape it up somewhere!  And yes, pray it with us.
