Dear friends and fellow-pilgrims,

I am excited to write to you today with two big announcements!

1. We are launching The Coracle Center of Formation for Action, the clear vision of our ministry space here in Arlington, VA and across Coracle. (If you were at our events over the weekend – thank you! – you got a little preview of this).

Click the image to see our vision of… A sacred space in Arlington, VA… providing hospitality, rest, teaching, formation, conversation, and community… where people who are seeking deeper spiritual formation, or are spiritually hungry, or who feel lost, or are in need of healing, or are burdened can come, rest, and meet with others in community…

2. We are hoping to raise $100,000 in investment in the ministry by the end of June, and we have a $50,000 matching opportunity! Generous donors who believe in this vision have pledged to match up to $50,000 in donations received through June 30.  Thanks to your generosity, we already have $16,000 towards the match and just need $34,000 more to make it!

Friends, I don’t have to tell you that the world feels very dark right now, sometimes more by the day it seems. Last year, the theme of our annual fundraiser and mid-year campaign was “Light Shines.” This year as the world feels even more fraught, our campaign therefore is “Burning Brighter.”  We continue to lean in and will.

As I shared in a recent talk, “Our job is not to fix everything but to burn bright in the midst of broken things.”

Yes, there is a lot of darkness in our world right now.  There always is.  And yet, YES, God’s answer to darkness is light.  It always is.  God sent The Light, and he keeps sending lights by sending us to shine in the darkness (Phil 2.15).  That’s what Coracle is all about, helping each other and others go deeper into God and shine with Divine Love, and engaging the darkness of the world to bring the light of Jesus.

Offering ministry, community, and formation opportunities to people at The Coracle Center of Formation for Action is one way we are going to do that this year, and you are invited to join us!

• Join us by investing in the Center.  Be a part of launching it and bringing it into being!
• Join us by coming to one of our offerings at the Center – in Arlington, at Corhaven, or online. (we have so many good things already on the calendar. Look at pp. 6-7 here to see that.)
• Join us by praying for the ministry of Coracle, and especially praying this with us right now:

O God, You-Who-Are, thank you for all You’ve done through the ministry of Coracle and what You will do. I ask You to provide for this work: the vision, the courage, the finances, and the people who will be met and formed by you through Coracle. Do Your work through this ministry for Your purposes in the world and in our lives and the lives of many. I ask that You pour out much grace for this work and on this ministry, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Your investment makes the work of Coracle possible – will you help us reach our goal of $100,000 by June 30 by making a one-time gift or becoming one of our Sustaining Partners and giving monthly?  We are hoping that by June 30 we will also have 20 new Sustaining Partners.  Smaller, monthly gifts are a huge help and deeply encouraging, and our Sustaining Partners virtual gatherings are my favorite meetings of the year.
