Coracle in the Valley: Spring – Fall 2021

We are thrilled to be able to offer a number of really wonderful opportunities for formation, creation, and service in and from the Shenandoah Valley over the coming months!  Some of these offerings will be in-person at Corhaven, and others will be offered online and are available to anyone.  No matter where you call home, we hope you will join us!

April

  • 15th:  “A Night of Classical Guitar” feat. Chris Jenkins, 7-8:15 PM (ET). We will gather on Zoom for this restful Encounter With Beauty as part of our “Beauty for Ballast” initiative.
  • 17th:  “Community Workday” at Corhaven Graveyard, 10 AM – 1 PM.  A chance for the whole family to get their hands dirty in service of the wonderful vision of healing and beauty embodied by the Graveyard.

May

  • 1st: “Plein-Air Art Encounters” at Corhaven Graveyard, 1-4 PM.  An opportunity for artists and creatives to make space to be inspired by the beauty and story of the Graveyard, in community with other artists.
  • 10th: “Voices of the Enslaved: Letters & Speeches” online book discussion, 7-8 PM (ET).  This rich time of learning and sharing will be led by Sarah Kohrs, Director of Corhaven Graveyard.

June

  • 12th: “Corhaven Creation Care Family Camp,9:30 AM – 5 PM.  This will be a day for the whole family to come and enjoy God’s presence through play, community, and Corhaven’s beautiful surroundings. (More Details Soon)
  • 19th: “Juneteenth Celebration, Dedication & Commitment Service” at Corhaven and Online, 2-4 PM (ET).  A time to celebrate what God is doing, grieve how much work still needs to be done, and find strength in God to keep doing it.
  • 30th: “Voices of the Enslaved: Interviews I – Pre-Civil War” online book discussion, 7-8 PM (ET).  This rich time of learning and sharing will be led by Sarah Kohrs, Director of Corhaven Graveyard.

July

  • 3rd: “Community Workday” at Corhaven Graveyard, 10 AM – 1 PM.  A chance for the whole family to get their hands dirty in service of the wonderful vision of healing and beauty embodied by the Graveyard.
  • 31st: “Celebration of Beauty at Corhaven,” 4-7 PM.  In partnership with Common Good Things, this will be an opportunity to savor the gift of Sabbath through good food, music, and fellowship. (More Details Soon)

August

September

  • 6th: “Community Workday” at Corhaven Graveyard, 10 AM – 1 PM.  A chance for the whole family to get their hands dirty in service of the wonderful vision of healing and beauty embodied by the Graveyard.
  • 13th: “Shenandoah Valley Artist’s Collective” at Corhaven, 6-9 PM.  An evening for local artists to gather and share their work, for the sake of mutual encouragement and inspiration. (More Details Soon)
  • 30th: “Voices of the Enslaved: Interviews II– Post Civil-War” online book discussion, 7-8 PM (ET).  This rich time of learning and sharing will be led by Sarah Kohrs, Director of Corhaven Graveyard.
