We’re excited to offer some new opportunities for good fun and great conversation at Corhaven starting in September called “Movies with a Message.”
In our day, one of the most powerful ways to tell stories, raise awareness, make a point, and spark conversation and even prayer is through film. But to hear the stories and have important conversations around them you’ve got to watch these films with others! We are doing this at Corhaven with a new series, “Movies with a Message.” Every so often we’ll gather at Corhaven at 6.30pm, watch a worthwhile film together with good snacks and drinks, have a good conversation, consider Christian responses to the stories we’ve seen, and pray. Among the films we may watch together are some that are pretty serious about real life issues and current situations. Others may include films that bring up important topics but a little less directly and with a lot fun.
Although these films are on a wide spectrum of genre and topics, they lead to very real situations, and questions we need to be wrestling with. This particular series this fall includes needed conversation of forgiveness, the will of God, struggle with answering God’s calling, and honoring all of God’s Kingdom. These conversations will be lead by the spirit speaking to us while we engage in the films, and fellowship with each other. For more information on a particular film, follow the link to their event pages.
