A Lament for Racial Injustice

On Juneteenth, 2020, we were honored to host over 500 people for a virtual service of Lament broadcast from the Corhaven Graveyard, a burial ground for 25 enslaved African Americans in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley.  We heard from a number of Christian leaders from across the east coast and had the chance to pray together for God to do a healing work in this country.

If you are interested in next-steps for engaging the ongoing reality of racial injustice, we invite you to check out this letter we sent to the Lament participants.  It shares some resources, opportunities, and ways to connect with our wonderful partners from the service.  The full recording of the lament is available below, with tabs marking when the different speakers begin their remarks.  We hope it will be a blessing to you and your community!
